Threatening The Government Works
The lastest agreement between the government and the land carriers has finally showed us what the state is for and how the pressure groups work in a democracy where political power is omnipotent.
Through threats, strikes and violence, the land carriers got most of their demands. The conclusion is obvious: organize yourself, complain about everything, blackmail the government, be violent in the picket lines against those who don’t agree with you and you will get what you want. It is very sad society is based on these values. The problem is that if it worked for them, what is going to stop other sectors that work together in different associations, from doing the same thing? Nothing. The omnipotent, partisan and despotic power of the government always brings chaos and collective misery.
The question we should ask ourselves, as individual economic actors is: what do I gain in this type of planned out and partisan society? Nothing. Just look at the current mess of socialist barbarism: only those who organize themselves in groups using the aforementioned methods against those who are not organized win. You, as a consumer, lose because the state robs you in exchange of nothing, and you as an employee or as an entrepreneur in another sector also lose. In the end, the majority of people keep losing buying power thanks to the taxes and the credit inflation the state generates by increasing the money supply, end up feeding a screaming and hysteric minority that believes their goals justify anything. It is easier for them to threaten society and the state than to use the peaceful free market.
The remedy to this chaos and barbaric situation is very simple: more economic freedom, that is, more Capitalism. The government should not get in the way of private people or their businesses, not only because it will favor some over others, but also because the state is not entitled to manage our savings and investments as it wishes.
In a complete state of laissez-faire, these things would not happen. In a society that lives together under peaceful laissez-faire, everyone is responsible for their own actions, whether good or bad or lucky. The helpless are not punished to aid the complainers and the violent. This also guarantees that things will work and that economic players will gain more.
In a free society (laissez-faire) when a sector starts dying or weakening, its resources are replaced in other production scenarios where they are needed, that is, the production factors (labor, capital, etc.) are used to make what the consumer wants. Dead or overexploited sectors are not kept alive artificially. This continuous flow is what allows innovation and wealth creation. The taxes, the laws that want to control everything and the pressure groups kill this harmony and bring economical and social chaos.
Obviously, the land carrier’s complaints are logical and the true guilt for the situation lies with a government that kills the economy when all it wants is to collect taxes. But the solution is not to pass special laws for those who complain the most, but to get rid of state generated injustice by overturning most laws, taxes and. in the end, the state itself.
